Bathroom Recipes

These recipes cover the automations in our bathroom. An mmWave presence sensor covers the room, with separate zones for the shower and the toilet, and — along with the time of day, the sun and the weather — drives each of the devices below independently:

  • Blind: the window blind, opened and closed by time of day and eased open gradually on bright mornings.
  • Extractor fan: the extractor fan, run while the shower or toilet is in use and switched off once the room has been vacant for a while.
  • Lights: the main lights, dimmed to suit the time of day and dropped right down at night when the adjoining bedroom is in bed mode.
  • Power Shower: the water pump's high-pressure mode, turned on while someone showers and released afterwards through the garden irrigation.
  • Towel rack: the heated towel rack, run for a couple of hours after a shower to dry the towels.
